Walter Bollendonk, ( 1897 - 1977)  

Born in New York, New York, died in Rockport, Massachussets 

Born in New York City, he studied at the Parsons School and National Academy. He painted a variety of subject matter but became most known for his stormy ocean images. He never tired of studying the tides and wind or the anatomy of a wave. He worked for many years on the art staff of Hearst Publications in New York City.

His paintings hang in the Navy Museum in Washington, D.C.
